A program designed to simultaneously help the Cabo San Lucas charter boat industry bounce back from Hurricane Odile and offer opportunities for people to fulfill their dreams of fishing the Bisbee's Black and Blue Tournament (October 21-25)
This year the first 40 teams who agree to hire a local Cabo charter crew will have their $5,000 tournament entry fee paid by an anonymous benefactor.
The Bisbee’s two tournaments will be held as scheduled this year from October 17-25. The main event is the 34th Black & Blue tournament, which was established by the Bisbee family in Cabo San Lucas in the early 1980s. It has become the richest fishing event in the world giving away upwards of $4 million in prizes each year. Participants in the tournament traditionally include fishing crews who own their own vessels as well as teams who hire local charter boats.
“Cabo San Lucas has been so good to us throughout the years, we are grateful to have this opportunity to give back,” said Bisbee. “The city is already well underway to being 100 percent ready. It’s now mostly a matter of polishing it up. This will be THE Bisbee’s to fish!”
